Meet Stephanie Willerding, Your Coach & Biggest Cheerleader
About Me
Through life’s ups and downs, tennis has been my one constant. It’s kept me grounded, driven, and healthy. I began playing at 7, unsure about committing to just one sport. But with the encouragement of my parents, who saw the benefits of an individual sport, I chose tennis. It was simple to organize, requiring only one opponent and a court. It was a sport I could enjoy for life, and that idea resonated with me.
My first taste of competition came at age 10, and I quickly realized that tennis would be a journey, demanding perseverance and hard work. That journey wasn’t always easy; tennis taught me how to lose, how to bounce back from defeat, and most importantly, that there is always more I can do.
The sport has shaped who I am today, teaching me resilience in the face of challenges both on and off the court. Whether I’m training, competing, or simply playing for fun, tennis has always been there—pushing me to improve and reminding me that the work doesn’t stop. It’s more than a game; it’s been a lifelong lesson in growth and self-discipline.
Unique Approach
I’ve had the privilege of competing at a national level, where I reached a high ranking of #13 in Canada. I’m also a former Division 1 scholarship athlete at the University of Texas-Pan American. In addition to my competitive experience, I’m a certified High Performance Coach 2 in Canada, and I hold coaching certifications from Tennis Australia in Community Coaching as well as the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) Coach 1 in Singapore
Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to coach players of all ages, from beginners to advanced athletes, in various countries around the world. This diverse experience has shaped my coaching philosophy and deepened my passion for helping players unlock their full potential.
I have a particular love for working with women. When a woman chooses to dedicate herself to something new—whether it’s a passion or a challenge—it speaks volumes about her strength and determination. Women, especially, go through numerous physical and mental changes throughout life, and I would be honored to support you as you embark on this new chapter in both life and tennis. Tennis is more than just a sport; it’s a powerful tool for growth, empowerment, and resilience, and I’m here to help you navigate that journey.
